  7.    DarkStar is the result of many thousands of hours of Research.  Though it █ 
  8.    was written by a single programmer, it would not have been possible with- █ 
  9.    out the patience and trust of over 500 active beta testers and a handfull █ 
  10.    of local SysOps in Benton and Carroll counties in Arkansas. These SysOps, █ 
  11.    the SysOps of DarkNet and BCSA Net3823,  have cumulatively expended  tens █ 
  12.    of thousands of dollars in long distance services and literally thousands █ 
  13.    of additional hours in testing to provide the result you see before you.  █

  15.    DarkStar began as little more than an experiment, at a time when ANSI was █ 
  16.    the standard and there were no DOS-based graphical BBS systems.  The year █ 
  17.    was 1992, and RIP had not yet made its way out of the closet. And it came █ 
  18.    to pass, that DarkStar evolved from a small out-of-the-way town in middle █ 
  19.    America, to become the first BBS system to provide online photos,  online █ 
  20.    digital audio, and a mouse-driven graphical interface.                    █
